Adelaide has surged up The Economist’s 2023 Global Liveability Index, rising from 30th to 12th to be one of the most liveable cities on earth.

Adelaide’s rankings slipped 12 months ago - falling to 30th overall - after a difficult 2021.

However, this year has seen Adelaide rank as one of the top 10 biggest improvers in the globally renowned list of 173 cities.

.

The positive ranking in The Economist’s Global Liveability Index follows recent positive news on the state’s economy – with South Australia ranked second in Australia in the CommSec State of the States report last month and the state’s economic performance among the best in the nation according to the ANZ Stateometer.

This is a very positive improvement in Adelaide’s ranking on The Economist’s Global Liveability Index.

We all know Adelaide has an incredible lifestyle that is the envy of the world.

Last year’s ranking was disappointing, but it is very pleasing to see strong improvement across the past 12 months.

I have an ambition for our city to continue to do even better in coming years as one of the most liveable places on earth.
