Release date: 19/04/22

The SACE Merit Ceremony dates have now been set, after the Malinauskas Labor Government stepped in to make sure the Ceremony would go ahead.

Minister for Education, Training and Skills Blair Boyer can announce the SACE Merit Ceremony dates will be Thursday 19 and Friday 20 May 2022 to celebrate the outstanding achievements of students from the Class of 2021.

Earlier in the year, the SACE Board had made the difficult decision to initially postpone and then cancel the event due to the impacts of COVID-19 and uncertain weather conditions for the outdoor event. Feedback from the community and the government led the SACE Board to work to reinstate the face-to-face ceremony.

Around 2,500 people will attend the Ceremony, held over two days within the grounds of Government House. A total of 1,282 subject merits will be awarded to 1,016 students in the presence of friends and family. Minister Boyer will attend the Ceremony and present merits to student.

Subject merits are awarded to students who gain an overall subject grade of A+ and demonstrate exceptional achievement in that subject.
