The State Government - partnering with AFL clubs Adelaide and Port Adelaide - is encouraging footy fans to catch the free Adelaide Oval Footy Express.

The Adelaide Oval Footy Express dedicated public transport services will again make it free and easy to attend AFL games in a win for fans for the 2023 AFL season.

Footy Express ambassadors Wayne Milera from the Adelaide Crows and Orazio Fantasia from Port Adelaide encourage fans to get to and from games safely and conveniently using bus, train and tram services, all free with your game day ticket.

Fans will get their first taste of the Adelaide Oval Footy Express for season 2023 when Port Adelaide hosts Brisbane on Saturday, 18 March at 4.05pm.

The Footy Express will swing into action for the Crows’ first home game of 2023 against Richmond on Saturday, 25 March.

A new THINK! Road Safety campaign reminding road users that No One’s Driving If You’re Distracted, featuring Adelaide Crows champion Rory Laird and Port Adelaide defender Darcy Byrne-Jones, will also feature in-stadium and across social media this season.

The initiative forms part of South Australia’s new Road Safety Action Plan 2023-2025 to reduce lives lost and serious injuries on our roads.

Both campaigns encourage safe travel choices to ensure fans and their families make getting home safe everyone’s goal.

There is no easier, free or more fun way to get to AFL games at Adelaide Oval than the Footy Express and it’s great to be partnering with the Crows and the Power to spread this important message.

Services like the Adelaide Oval Footy Express are particularly helpful when many fans and families are battling cost of living pressures.

It doesn’t matter if you are watching the game at a venue, a mate’s house or at Adelaide Oval; catching public transport is a cheaper, safer option than driving a car.

We urge all fans thinking about having a drink while watching AFL games to use public transport, rideshare or plan to hand your keys to a designated driver.
