Release date: 19/04/22

The ongoing dedication of our state’s COVID-19 frontline workers will be recognised later this month at Adelaide Football Club’s (AFC) inaugural Crows COVID Heroes round.

All South Australians have been impacted by the pandemic and have had to adjust to new ways of living and working but no one has felt this strain more than those who have worked on the frontline of South Australia’s COVID response.

AFC is offering 2000 complimentary memberships to frontline public sector workers as a show of thanks for their ongoing efforts.

These special memberships include a ticket to the Crows’ Round 7 clash against the GWS Giants at Adelaide Oval on April 30 to mark its Covid Heroes round, as well as discounted tickets and other benefits.

Public sector nurses, doctors, paramedics, police officers, human services frontline workers and teachers can access the tickets through a ballot, which opens today and runs until April 24.

For more than two years, our frontline Covid-19 workers have made significant sacrifices to ensure the safety and wellbeing of South Australians.

All South Australians been impacted by the pandemic and have had to adjust to new ways of living and working but no one has felt this strain more than those who have worked on the frontline of South Australia’s Covid response.

Our doctors, nurses, paramedics, police officers, teachers and human services workers are frontline heroes of this pandemic, for the personal sacrifices they make in keeping all of us safe and well. I thank the Adelaide Football Club for honouring South Australia’s frontline heroes of this pandemic.

The Club had been fortunate to continue playing games in Adelaide and across the country during these Covid-19 effected times.

The pandemic has created many and wide-ranging challenges for the football industry and the broader public.

Nurses, doctors, paramedics, police officers, human services workers and teachers are among those who have given incredible service to our community and no doubt made many personal sacrifices along the way.

Like many people, we consider ourselves the beneficiaries of their hard work and commitment.

Offering them tickets to the footy and the chance to enjoy the atmosphere and excitement of a Crows home game is the least we could do.
