Through a new collaboration between the Music Development Office and the Office for Small and Family Business, recipients of the fund will also receive free business advisory services to support the sector’s long-term sustainability.
As part of our $14 million Small Business Strategy released last year, we have a number of resources designed to support small business owners to successfully run and grow their businesses.
In recognition of how challenging the past few years have been for the industry, we will provide recipients with access to a free tailored workshop on business fundamentals for live music venues, a one-on-one consultation to assess their individual businesses needs and an opportunity to secure a business mentor.
The Malinauskas Government promised at the election to create live music grants to support this important South Australian industry and we continue to deliver.
In addition to the See It LIVE grants, the Malinauskas Government has provided a number of grants to support South Australia’s live music industry including:
- $50,000 for Fringe It LIVE grants for venues to host live music during Adelaide Fringe.
- 17 grants of up to $15,000 through the Project Support Grants
- 7 artist and 3 industry fellowships awarded through the Robert Stigwood Fellowship Program, an intensive 12-month mentorship program.

The Malinauskas Government recognises the importance of dedicated live music venues in South Australia.
Our live music venues play a vital role in supporting the careers of emerging artists and contribute significantly to the cultural life of our state - reflected through our designation as a UNESCO City of Music.
The See It LIVE Music Activation Fund brings together two areas of my portfolio, the Music Development Office and the Office of Small and Family Business, to provide targeted funding and business support to ensure a more sustainable future for our venues in the longer term.

Semaphore Workers Club congratulates the Minister on this funding initiative. The Semaphore Workers Club has for many years presented live music focussed on an Australian form of the blues to the people of the western suburbs and LeFevre Peninsula.
We are proud of supporting local performers who present this music in their own unique style. This grant will enable us to continue offering musicians a stage to perform on to an audience that appreciates their music and, importantly, with sound technicians who are good at their job, which makes the band sound even better.
We are grateful for and applaud the Malinauskas Government's continuing support of live music in SA.
